With another strong showing on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, Lamar Jackson is no question the MVP thus far this campaign.

Lamar Jackson really is on a different level right now. In a highly-anticipated showdown against Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers, Jackson was brilliant and made countless outstanding plays in the 34-6 win.

While Jackson did toss two interceptions, that didn’t matter and Baltimore dominated this one. Jackson, who had 218 total yards, plus a touchdown pass to Mark Andrews, now has his team sitting at 5-1. Keep in mind, the Ravens lost both Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins to season-ending injuries in the summer. Yet, Jackson hasn’t let that slow the offense down.

Lamar Jackson continues to play at an incredible level

While Baltimore suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Raiders to open the season, they’ve since recorded five straight wins going up against the Chiefs, Lions, Broncos, Colts and now the Chargers. Both teams were 4-1 entering this showdown, but Baltimore made LA look like a JV squad.

It’s not often you see Herbert and the Chargers offense look so sluggish. Also, LA’s defense simply had no answer for Jackson and the Ravens offense. What makes Jackson so tough to defend is that his wheels are unmatched for a quarterback.

Jackson looks extremely more comfortable in the pocket as well, which is only opening things up for the aerial attack. On the year, Jackson has thrown for nine touchdowns and added two more on the ground.

He’s the straw that stirs the drink for this team right now and he really makes the Ravens fun to watch. If Jackson can keep playing like this, Baltimore will definitely be in the Super Bowl conversation later in the year. Jackson will no doubt also be in the MVP hunt as well.
