After a rough first half against the Washington Football Team, Patrick Mahomes looked sensational late to help Kansas City win.

Will the real Kansas City Chiefs please stand up? To start off against the Washington Football Team, the Chiefs looked rough and even went into the halftime break down 13-10. Patrick Mahomes really played bad, tossing two interceptions.

However, Mahomes was on another planet in the second half, lighting up Washington’s defense to power the Chiefs to a 31-13 win. That’s right, Kansas City’s defense didn’t allow a point in the third or fourth quarter. Mahomes turned things up by throwing touchdowns to Tyreek Hill and DeMarcus Robinson. In the first half, he had no scores and two interceptions.

Patrick Mahomes was nothing short of spectacular in the second half against Washington

Shortly after the final whistle, Mahomes admitted that he needed to be smarter and not make foolish decisions. He went viral in the first half after one of the worst interceptions you’ll ever see. Mahomes shook his head in disgust even talking about that play.

People were clowning on Mahomes left and right for that terrible play. With that said, Mahomes turned things around after halftime and he finished the day throwing for 397 yards and his two scores.

When the Chiefs playing so well after the first half hiccup, it reminded fans of just how special this team can be. For Mahomes, his first interception of the day actually should have been caught by Tyreek Hill too. That one wasn’t on the signal-caller.

On the year, Mahomes is now up to 18 touchdowns, but eight interceptions. Despite the turnovers, he’s still without question one of the best quarterbacks in the game. That was on full display when it mattered on Sunday.
