As Justin Turner limped into the Dodgers clubhouse after suffering an apparent hamstring injury, Albert Pujols was right there with him.

The Dodgers suffered an injury blow in the seventh inning against the Braves when Justin Turner came up lame while running to first base.

It didn’t look good for Turner, who had to be replaced at third base by Chris Taylor, but it did give Albert Pujols an opportunity to earn some points with his teammates and the LA faithful.

Pujols was the one helping Turner on his slow journey back to the clubhouse.

The Dodgers brought Pujols in to be a veteran figure. His potential as a designated hitter was one thing, but his experience is where the value truly lies. He showed that in the way he responded to Turner’s injury.

The question now is how long Los Angeles will have to cope without Turner. They’re certainly hoping for a place in the World Series, but it’ll take something special to overcome their deficit to the Braves. They were heading for defeat on Wednesday night, putting them down 3-1 and on the brink of elimination.

Los Angeles overcame those odds last year against the Braves. However, they had Turner as well. He had seven hits in that series, including a home run in Game 6.

Of course, this year they have Pujols, who could come through at the plate for the Dodgers as well. You never know.
