Special Olympics has taken another bold step to make sure their athletes are as comfortable as they can be when competing.

You look good, you feel good. Then you can perform at your very best and win medals in Olympic competition. The top athletes in the world on the world’s biggest stages all tend to have the chic clothes to go with their talents. Big bold colors that send the message off the I am here to win this event no matter what.

Well, the same can now be said for Special Olympic athletes and what they are wearing as the push for more inclusion continues into the fashion world.

Special Olympics has raised the bar once again delving into that lucrative fashion game by partnering with the Parsons School of Design to create a new athletic wear line dubbed Be Brave. This year’s initial edition featured both tennis and track and field uniforms. The stealth-looking uniforms were on display at a New York City photoshoot during fashion week.

Showing off the line were four Special Olympics New York athletes along with two students from Parsons School of Design. To top it all off, fashion photographer and Special Olympics Ambassador Nigel Barker was the host of the photoshoot.

When you look at the clothing line you notice two things– the clothes have both style and functionality for the athletes to be able to compete at their best. Reminder, when Eunice Kennedy Shriver started Special Olympics in 1968 she was about sport, inclusion and also winning.

Any clothing line that is created for Special Olympics athletes would have to have both the look but even more so the flexibility to be viable in the most intense competition.

Fierce competition has always been at the core of the Special Olympics. The Be Brave line has started with an impressive win.
