Baltimore Ravens

Over in the AFC, the Ravens are emerging with an impressive 5-1 record all their own: like the Packers, this team has won five straight games in the past six weeks.

Lamar Jackson has led his team time and time again, even against a Chiefs team that no one ever expected him to conquer.

Success aside for the moment, there’s a concerning issue for Baltimore that should be addressed sooner rather than later: they might need a little running back depth if they’re headed for the postseason.

They just activated Le’Veon Bell from the practice squad, but the Ravens’ marquee veterans are all hovering around the 30-year mark that tends to hamper viability in the later months. It’s possible Bell, Latavius Murray and Devonta Freeman all struggle in the cold, and then the team would be reliant on Ty’Son Williams to carry them through a championship run.

But what if the Ravens traded for the best of both worlds? Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack wants out of Indy, and Baltimore could give him a run-happy home where his talents would be better appreciated.

Per PFF, “Mack had over 1,000 rushing yards in a workhorse role in 2019, with almost 700 of those yards coming after contact which ranked 12th in the NFL.” Now, he’s competing with Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines, which is likely why the Colts agreed to finding him a better fit.

It may not fly with another AFC team, but the Ravens need to keep an eye out for available running backs like Mack or Phillip Lindsay as they scour the league for options.
