The Atlanta Braves have three World Series titles in franchise history, but it’s been a while since the club won the NL Pennant.

The Atlanta Braves are on the cusp of making it to the 2021 World Series, a remarkable feat considering that they’ve been without Ronald Acuña Jr. for months.

If they can avoid blowing a 3-1 NLCS lead to the Dodgers for the second straight year, though, Atlanta will move on to face the Houston Astros.

And it’s been quite a while since they’ve been to the World Series, so Braves fans are certainly hoping that they can punch their ticket to the final seven-game stint of the year.

When is the last time the Atlanta Braves reached the World Series?

Though the Braves have been a perennial playoff team over the years, it’s been over two decades since Atlanta made it to the World Series, last appearing as the NL representative in 1999 with a win over the rival Mets.

Unfortunately, the Braves were throttled in the World Series that year, losing 4-0 to the New York Yankees, unable to run the gauntlet of New York teams in the MLB Postseason.

That run in the 1990s, however, marked a period of dominance for the Braves as they made it to the World Series three times in five seasons (1995, 1996, 1999). Obviously, though they’ve been a playoff team consistently, they haven’t enjoyed that same type of success as of late.

As for the last World Series title for the Atlanta Braves, that came in 1995 with a 4-2 series win over Cleveland.

When is the last time the Braves won the World Series

As mentioned, the Braves last won the World Series in 1995, which was their third in franchise history and first since moving to Atlanta.

1995 Braves roster

We’re not going to run down the entire 1995 roster that won the World Series for the Atlanta Braves, but the team was absolutely loaded.

Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and John Smoltz as the top of the starting rotation was lethal while the lineup featured studs such as Chipper Jones, Fred McGriff, Javy Lopez, David Justice and many, many more Atlanta legends.
