The Atlanta Braves punched their ticket to the World Series with a Game 6 win to clinch the NLCS against the Dodgers.

Uncomfortably familiar feelings had to be creeping in for the Atlanta Braves in the NLCS this year. They jumped out to a 3-1 lead against the Dodgers in the series, just as they did a season ago. However, it was LA that won three straight to head to the World Series in dramatic fashion in 2020.

In 2021, however, the Braves were deadset on changing the narrative and accomplished just that with a Game 6 win in Atlanta to clinch the NL Pennant and a World Series berth.

On the back of a clutch Eddie Rosario home run and then a dominant two-inning bullpen outing from Tyler Matzek after coming in during a pinch, the Braves were able to withstand the best shots from the Dodgers and take the 4-2 victory and win the series by the same mark.

Now, the Atlanta Braves fans are heading to their first World Series since 1999. Baseball fans from all corners of Twitter were absolutely ready to join the party in Atlanta as well as they were loving every second of the victory.

It’s clear that the Braves have become a fan favorite after the NLCS that saw them take down the Dodgers.

This is a team that has overcome a ton of adversity to make it to the World Series, most notably making this run with Ronald Acuña Jr. out due to injury, which makes them that much easier to root for.

The Atlanta Braves will now be off until Tuesday when they’ll play Game 1 of the World Series against the Houston Astros.
