Next week’s college football rankings will be impacted by the Oklahoma State Cowboys’ road loss to the Iowa State Cyclones, the Ole Miss Rebels’ home win over the LSU Tigers and the Oregon Ducks’ narrow road victory over the UCLA Bruins.

As it is every week, we will see a change inside of the top 10 of the next college football rankings, especially after the mid-afternoon games involving Oklahoma State, Oregon and Ole Miss.

Previously undefeated Oklahoma State lost a controversial one in Ames to Iowa State. This road defeat will surely knock the Pokes down a peg from No. 8. Ole Miss looked strong at home vs. pretty much a lost LSU team on Eli Manning Day. As for Oregon, the Ducks did enough to squeak once past the UCLA Bruins in the Rose Bowl. How will these games impact the AP Top 25 poll?

Here is what the top of the next AP Poll could look like heading into Week 9’s slate of ballgames.

College football projected top 10 rankings, Week 9

  1. Georgia Bulldogs
  2. Cincinnati Bearcats
  3. Alabama Crimson Tide
  4. Ohio State Buckeyes
  5. Michigan Wolverines
  6. Oklahoma Sooners
  7. Michigan State Spartans
  8. Oregon Ducks
  9. Ole Miss Rebels
  10. Iowa Hawkeyes

Georgia and Cincinnati stay in the top two. While Alabama will push the Bearcats for the No. 2 spot, Cincinnati being undefeated with a road win over Notre Dame gives them a slight edge, despite a narrow victory over a bad Navy team in Indianapolis. Ohio State moves up to No. 4 with a win over Indiana. Michigan improves to No. 5 after throughly trouncing Northwestern at home.

Dropping down to No. 6 is Oklahoma after escaping potentially an embarrassing one vs. Kansas. Michigan State moves up to No. 7 on the Spartans’ bye week ahead of huge game vs. in-state rival Michigan. Oregon gets to No. 8 with a road win over UCLA. Ole Miss gets into the top 10 with a convincing win over LSU. Iowa gets to No. 10 by being on bye and Penn State’s overtime collapse.

Keep an eye on Notre Dame, Kentucky and Wake Forest heading into the Week 9 slate as well.
