The Panthers were on a roll to start this season but they’ve lost four in a row including Sunday’s grimace-inducing defeat to the Giants, 25-3.

When you’re an offense-minded head coach like Rhule, putting up just three points on a New York defense that came in allowing 29.5 points per game is horrific.

The Panthers were 2-of-15 on third down and managed 2.8 yards per play. Sam Darnold and P.J. Walker, who replaced the starter late, were sacked three times each.

Rhule needs to start showing signs he has what it takes to lead an NFL franchise. After a 5-11 season in his debut, this 3-3 start doesn’t hold enough signs of progress.

Now he has to deal with quarterback drama as well. After telling the media at the postgame press conference that Darnold would remain the starter going forward, reports of Carolina entering the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes emerged.
