How long will the Titans control the AFC Playoff picture?

As the Kansas City Chiefs struggle and the Tennessee Titans are thriving, the balance with the AFC playoff picture has shifted this season.

With the Tennessee Titans running through their foes to get the season started, they’re in a great position to take control of the AFC. That’s especially true as the Kansas City Chiefs continue to find new ways to lose and disappoint their fans.

It’s still early, but the Titans are seemingly in a great spot to go through this season as the best team in the AFC.

After thrashing the Chiefs, the Titans are 5-2 and should be able to cruise through most of their remaining opponents. Tennessee has games against the Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints, Houston Texans, New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, and Miami Dolphins up ahead.

Considering the fact that most of those foes are pretty dysfunctional, it’s fair to expect that this slate of games should lead to a few relatively easy wins for the Titans.

The Tennessee Titans are off to a great start this season, can that continue?

Right now, it seems as if Tennessee’s strongest competition for being the best team in the AFC might actually be the Cincinnati Bengals, of all teams. The Bengals have been an unexpected surprise and have been overachieving in an impressive way, especially considering how much Cincinnati struggled a season ago.

Both the Bengals and the Titans currently have identical 5-2 records, but it’s probably fair to say that Tennessee has a slight advantage here due to Tennessee’s experience and the presence of veterans in key positions.

So far Cincinnati has been relying heavily upon Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase, both of whom are fairly young, all things considered.

Between Derrick Henry, Julio Jones, and A.J. Brown, Tennessee has an impressive group of offensive weapons that allows quarterback Ryan Tannehill to spread the ball around with ease as he manages the game.

With the Chiefs struggling to get wins and both the Titans and Bengals thriving, the AFC is going to be fascinating to watch all season long.
