Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys offense just got great news with wide receiver Michael Gallup scheduled to return to practice.

The scariest thing about the Cowboys‘ offense in 2021 is how they’ve averaged 34.2 points per game despite missing one of their top weapons.

Going forward, quarterback Dak Prescott could have another dangerous receiver to target as Michael Gallup returns from injury.

Michael Gallup injury update: Cowboys WR returning to practice

Gallup has been out since Week 1 because of a calf injury. Cowboys VP Stephen Jones revealed he will return to practice this week.

Dallas has leaned on CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper as primary receivers just like last year when Gallup was the third-leading receiver with 843 yards and five touchdowns.

Gallup won’t come in and take over for Lamb and Cooper as the main men in the passing attack. He’ll just make their lives that much easier by attracting the attention of the defense as another pass-catcher to account for.

Don’t forget, Gallup was a 1,000-yard receiver as recently as 2019. As far as No. 3 wide receivers go, it doesn’t get much better.

With Gallup back in the picture, the Cowboys will give opposing defenses even more problems than they already have.

No one in the NFL has scored more points in the league this year. Dallas is also fifth in passing yards and third in passing touchdowns.

Celebrations shouldn’t start up completely though. Gallup has been out for a while and will need time to get back up to speed. The fact that he’s starting the process is very good news, but his participation against the Vikings this weekend is still uncertain. He has a 21-day window to practice before Dallas needs to decide if he’ll make it back on the field this season or get shut down.
