Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker isn’t going to let the Game 1 loss in the World Series bring him or his players down.

Things didn’t go according to plan for Dusty Baker and the Houston Astros on Tuesday night going up against the Atlanta Braves. In Game 1 of the World Series, Atlanta looked far superior and recorded a 6-2 win in this one.

While folks in Houston were a bit disappointed with the result, that doesn’t mean for a second that Baker is having any doubts that his club can still get the job done and lift the trophy high into the sky. He made that much clear with his postgame comments.

Dusty Baker knows his team can bounce back against the Braves

“This team is excellent at forgetting yesterday if you have negative events like we did today,” Baker said after Game 1. “I mean, you go in our clubhouse, I’ve never seen these guys worry. They know they can play, and they know they’re going to rebound.”

Those are powerful words from Baker. This team is no stranger to adversity, but the skipper is confident his club will rebound in a big way when these two sides face off again in Game 2 at Minute Maid Park.

In this best-of-seven series, there’s still plenty of time left for Houston to make loads of noise and record head-turning wins. Things will start on Wednesday night in a crucial contest for the home team. Should Atlanta end up jumping out to a 2-0 series lead, then it could be time to worry for folks in Texas.

However, Baker will continue to be calm, cool and collected. He’s got faith in all of his players, which is a great thing to see for all of the Houston faithful. If Baker believes, then so should everyone else.
