While Green Bay Packers fans were praying to the football Gods that Davante Adams could suit up in Week 8, it’s not going to happen.

Who is Aaron Rodgers going to end up throwing the ball to on Thursday night? The team has been hit with negative coronavirus news this week, as both Davante Adams and Allen Lazard were placed on the COVID list.

For the Green Bay supporters, there was a small amount of hope that Adams would be able to present back-to-back negative tests and suit up for the monster showdown against the Arizona Cardinals. Well, it doesn’t look like that’s going to be happening after all.

Davante Adams will miss the Week 8 contest going up against the Cardinals

According to the NFL Network’s Steve Wyche, Adams will not be traveling with the team to Arizona for the Thursday tilt. This wipes away any chance that the superstar wideout will be cleared in time to put on a show in the desert.

Lazard will also miss the action. This means Rodgers will now have to rely on guys like Randall Cobb and Robert Tonyan to step their games up and make plenty of plays for the team’s aerial attack.

This Adams news really is a bummer, though, as he’s arguably the best wideout in the game. Him missing the action takes away a bit of the spice of this showdown, as Arizona is 7-0 on the year and Green Bay is 6-1 following their win on Sunday over the Washington Football Team.

Things are interesting now for Rodgers without Adams and Lazard ready to catch the ball from him. Despite that, Rodgers has never shied away from any challenge and he’ll still do everything he can to power the Packers over Kyler Murray and Co.
