5 bold predictions for Browns against Steelers
By John Buhler
3. Jarvis Landry will lead the Browns in receiving yardage vs. the Steelers
Jarvis Landry made his return to the gridiron after a month’s absence due to injury last Thursday night. Though he is questionable for Week 8’s game vs. Pittsburgh, this game will be coming off a mini-bye for Cleveland. Despite the entire offense being relatively limited a week ago, Landry still did what he does and found a way to lead the Browns in receiving with five catches for 37 yards.
This is very important for the Browns, as they will look to be incredibly conservative in the passing game, especially with Mayfield working his way back from injury. Though this is not good news for Landry’s college teammate Odell Beckham Jr., this plays right into what has made a Landry a Pro Bowl player ever since coming out of LSU. He is the epitome of a high-end possession receiver.
So how many catches will Landry have on the Steelers defense in Week 8? Look for him to have at least five and potentially push for 10 if the Browns’ passing game finds an area to exploit the Pittsburgh front-seven early. A few easy completions to Landry will go a long way towards Mayfield getting back into rhythm in the offense. Landry must play well if Cleveland wants to win.
Look for Landry to have somewhere around eight catches for 75 yards vs. the Steelers defense.
