NFL trade deadline rumors: 1 deal each team should make
With the NFL’s trade deadline quickly approaching, here’s one deal every team can make to get better before the deadline.
The NFL trade deadline sometimes feels like a second offseason. In the past few years, we’ve seen big named players such as Jalen Ramsey, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Amari Cooper get dealt around the deadline.
Some years, huge deals go down. Some years, the deadline goes by quietly. What will happen this season? Well, one thing is for sure: no team is perfect. Every team can improve.
Here is one move every team can make to improve before the Nov. 2 trade deadline.

Arizona Cardinals: Vikings’ DL Sheldon Richardson
The Cardinals are a near-perfect team, with both sides of the ball looking elite so far in 2021. With very few holes to fill, the Cardinals would be fine with just skipping out on the deadline frenzy and sticking it out with their current roster.
However, one spot that could use some improvement is their defensive line. Both interior defenders, Leki Fotu and Rashard Lawrence, are young, inexperienced players and both have middle-of-the-road PFF grades.
Enter Sheldon Richardson, the Vikings’ veteran defensive lineman who has made a few stops around the league and has brought a veteran, run-stuffing presence to each team he’s been on. Richardson would help shore up an already elite defensive front.
The Vikings don’t appear headed towards contention this season, so selling a veteran piece like Richardson to a contender may be in the best interest of both teams. This trade would improve what is already a contending Cardinals team.
