Minnesota Vikings: Patriots’ CB Joejuan Williams

The Minnesota Vikings brought in Patrick Peterson, Bashaud Breeland, and Xavier Woods to re-tool and fortify their secondary, but it hasn’t quite panned out like they expected. Breeland has a PFF grade of 54.7 and has given up 23 receptions so far, which is 19th among corners.

The Patriots drafted Joejuan Williams in the third round in the 2019 NFL Draft, and he’s already lost his spot in their secondary rotation. He’s been a healthy scratch on and off so far this season, and if the Patriots don’t play him even with a need at corner, he likely has no future with the team.

If the Vikings can acquire a player like Williams, who was a high-end draft prospect just two years ago, and develop him into a starter, it could be huge for them long term. He likely wouldn’t cost much either as the Patriots have given up on him.
