Former Georgia QB just gave the eulogy for the Clemson dynasty
By Ethan Lee
One former Georgia quarterback seems to believe that Dabo Swinney’s Clemson Tigers dynasty has come to an end.
The Clemson Tigers dynasty has been thrilling to watch. Dabo Swinney has done an impressive job of turning a once relatively meager Clemson football program into a team that could compete for national championships year in and year out.
But things have regressed significantly and former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray thinks the Tigers may not be able to sustain that high level of success going forward.
During an episode of the Punt & Pass podcast, Murray explained his rationale.
“The fact that Clemson, this is happening to them. The way they’ve recruited, the coaches that are on that staff. And it’s the ACC. It’s the ACC, this isn’t the SEC. Like, I just can’t believe the talent on that team, that they are where they are right now,” Murray said.
Is the Clemson Tigers dynasty over?
Given his reasoning, and considering how poorly Clemson has played in 2021, it’s hard to fault him for thinking this. Murray is right to bring up how all that championship winning fun might actually be over though. That doesn’t mean the Tigers won’t be a great team, it just might mean that they won’t be a national title contender every single season.
