The NFL will run through some head coaches, and will continue to do so for the rest of time.

Every offseason, roughly a quarter of the NFL‘s teams will be employing a new head coach.

It may not always be an ineffective head coach’s fault, but the NFL is a business. Most teams are in the business of winning, so some organizations may not tolerate excuses, posturing or losing above all else. Though only one team has a vacancy heading towards 2022 (Las Vegas Raiders), these head coaches could be feeling some pressure after how the first eight weeks have gone.

That is not the smell of burning leaves. It is the seat upon which you sit. Enter NFL hot seat watch.

The Indianapolis Colts will not win AFC South with Frank Reich and Carson Wentz

For those that bought into the Indianapolis Colts these last few weeks, why did you do that to yourself? This is not a good football team. They are 3-5 on the season and have now lost both of their games to the division-leading Tennessee Titans. Unless Mike Vrabel’s team has a second half from hell, Tennessee will win the AFC South for the second year in a row. What about Frank Reich?

Since being the offensive coordinator of the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, Reich has not coached a team that will win its division. The Colts have the longest active division title drought in the AFC South. This was the year they had to get it done. Tennessee was a regression candidate. The Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars will combine to win roughly five games.

Ultimately, this is all about Reich attaching himself to Carson Wentz as his quarterback. If you are willing to live by Wentz, then you deserve to die by Wentz, as he will drag you to the abyss at your profession with one horrendous decision at the quarterback position after another. Reich is a good coach, but the Colts are running out of excuses in 2021. They have so massively underperformed.

The AFC might be up for grabs this season, but the Colts have no business grabbing any stake in it.
