The Atlanta Braves are World Series champions but now it’s about the path to repeating. Which free agents should they be signing to make it happen?

For the first time in 26 years, the Atlanta Braves are World Series champions!

The city of Atlanta, the state of Georgia and Braves fans throughout the country deserve their moment to celebrate. But the reality of sports is that the plight for the next season begins as soon as the previous one ends, no matter if the trophy is being hoisted or not.

In the case of the Braves, the goal is now to not stop at one World Series victory for this club but to make a run at repeating as champions. Getting Ronald Acuña Jr. back at some point next season will obviously help tremendously with that but the club could also make some critical moves in free agency.

Specifically, the Braves should be all-in on signing these three free agents for the 2022 season.

3. Braves should re-sign Freddie Freeman for whatever he wants

Back up the Brinks truck, let him run CNN, build a Varsity in his backyard — just do whatever it takes to keep Freddie Freeman.

That should be the edict that the Braves front office gets this offseason as their star first baseman and 2020 NL MVP is set to hit free agency.

While Freeman struggled at times early in the season, he proved to be the star he’s long been for Atlanta as he ended the year hitting .300 with an .896 OPS along with 31 home runs, 25 doubles and 83 RBIs on the season. Remember, he did most of that without Acuña ahead of him in the batting order as well.

And that’s also not including his numerous big-time moments throughout the postseason and World Series, further proving his immense value to the Braves lineup.

Letting Freeman go would legitimately cause a riot in Atlanta. He’s the stalwart of the franchise who has watched them build and build to the point they finally reached on Tuesday night in Houston. The story for him with the Braves simply can’t be allowed to end here.
