Most home runs in a single World Series
Home runs make any World Series more exciting but what is the record for the most home runs in a single World Series and who holds it?
Power-hitting has become commonplace in MLB as home runs are so valuable. And we’ve seen a lot of that recently in the postseason.
Teams are swinging for the fences like never before and succeeding doing so.
But that begs the question of what is the record for the most home runs in a single World Series.
Most home runs in a single World Series
The MLB record for most home runs in a single World Series is five.
George Springer with the infamous 2017 Houston Astros is the most recent player to reach that feat. However, it was done twice before him.
Chase Utley did it most recently before Springer, hitting five for the Phillies in 2009. And, of course, Reggie Jackson earned his moniker as Mr. October with five home runs for the Yankees in the 1977 series.
Even with the power boom, it might be a while before we see someone best the five-homer mark in the last series of the year.
Most home runs by a team in a World Series game
The most home runs hit by a single team in a World Series game is 5, which the Phillies tied in the fifth inning of Game 3 of the 2022 World Series against the Astros, joining the 2017 Astros*, 1989 Athletics, and the 1928 San Francisco Yankees as the only teams to do so.
