The Patriots will intercept Sam Darnold multiple times

The Patriots enjoy playing Sam Darnold. He struggled heavily against New England during his time with the New York Jets. New England infamously made Darnold “see ghosts” on Monday Night Football in a 2019 blowout of the Jets where Darnold had multiple turnovers.

Darnold has been in a big slump over the last month. In the Panthers’ last four games, he has eclipsed 200 yards passing just one time. He also has only one touchdown pass in the last three games. This has caused Carolina to reportedly show interest in Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.

The way Darnold is playing doesn’t bode well for the Panthers. Especially when they are facing a team that he has historically struggled against. He has seven touchdowns to eight interceptions on the season. He has slowed down heavily after a hot start. New England picked off Justin Herbert twice last week, and their defense is clicking on all cylinders. Guys like J.C. Jackson and Kyle Dugger will be eager to keep this hot streak going.

Darnold is clearly on the hot seat, even after the Panthers win against Atlanta. He was pulled in the loss against the Giants for P.J. Walker. If he struggles against the Patriots, his job could be in jeopardy.
