The Buffalo Bills thought they had an edge with Josh Allen on their side but it turns out they had the wrong Josh Allen in an upset loss to the Jaguars.

There are two Josh Allen’s active in the NFL this year. Both have a Pro Bowl appearance. One plays for a winning team and one for a losing team. But those descriptions were flipped on Sunday when the Bills played the Jaguars.

If you guessed Josh Allen would be the star of the game before kickoff, just about everyone would have assumed you were talking about the Bills quarterback.

Instead, it was the Jaguars defensive end who stole the show.

Josh Allen intercepted, sacked and recovered a fumble on Josh Allen

The Allen who plays for Jacksonville had a career day against the Bills. He was responsible for eight tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, a pass defense and a fumble recovery.

He led a defensive effort that held the Bills to their worst offensive showing since Sept. 30, 2018.

The lesser Allen, because that was settled on the field, threw two interceptions, took six sacks and failed to find the endzone with his arm or legs.

It was an ugly performance for Buffalo, dropping them to 5-3. Their four-game winning streak featuring a string of blowout victories feels further and further away by the week.

The quarterback has been exceptional more often than not over the last couple of years, but this performance will have major questions being asked of the offense as a whole.

Meanwhile, the defensive end gets to celebrate a memorable performance that crowned him “The Josh Allen” until they meet again.
