The Chiefs will win 24-23

It truly has been a difficult stretch for the Raiders and the distractions just seem to keep popping up. Jon Gruden’s firing would have been enough for a team to handle in one season. The Henry Ruggs III DUI arrest is an unimaginable situation to process. Throw in cutting Damon Arnett because of threatening social media posts and you’ve got a ridiculous number of crises to deal with.

That could be why the Chiefs are favored by a field goal on the road this week even though KC and LV are pretty evenly matched on paper.

The difference all hinges on momentum. The Raiders lost to the Giants on Sunday while Derek Carr looked awful.

Patrick Mahomes didn’t play much better in Kansas City’s win over the Packers but the team has won two in a row and just might be starting to put things together.

Both teams need their quarterbacks to play well. Neither team can always depend on that, which is a new phenomenon for the Chiefs. It’s just tough to imagine Mahomes won’t wake from his slumber sooner or later. He came through in the end against the Packers. He can do it again.
