The Georgia Bulldogs are putting the pressure on Dan Mullen by flipping two of his top Florida commits. These feel like additional nails in the coffin.

Dan Mullen is on the hot seat for the performance of his team on the football field. He doesn’t need Kirby Smart throwing fuel on the fire on the recruiting trail.

Unfortunately for Mullen, that’s precisely what has happened this week.

Florida recruiting is losing out to Georgia

On Friday, former Florida commit Julian Humphrey committed to Georgia instead. The four-star cornerback ranks No. 94 in the class of 2022 per the 247Sports composite. He recommitted from the Gators on Oct. 25 and it didn’t take long for him to jump in with the Bulldogs.

Losing one commit to Georgia would be bad enough but Humphrey wasn’t the only one. Top 100 2023 wide receiver Raymond Cottrell also backed off his pledge to the Gators and flipped to the Bulldogs on Thursday.

This could not come at a worse moment for Mullen. His Florida team is in shambles having lost three games in a row, including a blowout to South Carolina. On Saturday they ended up in a dogfight with Samford, trailing by two touchdowns in the first half.

Mullen could be fired for the way the Gators have collapsed. He could be fired for his subpar recruiting efforts. Combining the two should seal the deal for the struggling head coach.
