FSU football players and Miami football players had to be separated after the rivals nearly had an all-out brawl between the third and fourth quarters.

Things are getting testy as the Miami Hurricanes hit the road to face the Florida State Seminoles. The two teams needed to be separated to prevent what could have become a pretty nasty brawl.

FSU-Miami nearly brawling means this rivalry is back

The brawl-that-almost-happened occurred around midfield following the conclusion of the third quarter. Miami, who had trailed Florida State all game, scored on the subsequent play, a pass on fourth down, to take the Hurricanes’ first lead of the game.

While both teams have been having relatively rough years and have been down on their luck for a few seasons now, this rivalry still means a lot to the players on the field.

With something like this happening, it’s hard to ignore that fact.

The end of the FSU-Miami football game can be seen on ESPN. Miami holds a 28-23 lead at the time of publishing.
