While there was hope for the Arizona Cardinals this wouldn’t be the case, both Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins will be out of action on Sunday.

For the second consecutive week, the Arizona Cardinals are going to be without two playmakers in Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins. The standout quarterback and receiver were out for the Week 9 tilt with the 49ers and the same will be the case against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport broke the news, with Murray missing this one due to his ankle injury, while Hopkins continues to be bothered by his bum hamstring.

Both Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins won’t suit up on Sunday

Murray suffered his injury late in the loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 8. Arizona entered that contest undefeated, but the Packers and Aaron Rodgers traveled to the desert and were able to pull off the upset win.

As things stand, Arizona is 8-1 on the season, as Murray and Co. have been sensational this year. They’re clinging to first place in the NFC West, as the Los Angeles Rams are right behind them at 7-2. It’s a battle for the division title that’s expected to keep going the rest of the season.

With Murray set to miss his second consecutive game, Colt McCoy will be getting the start for Arizona on Sunday. McCoy helped Arizona take down San Francisco last week, as he tossed for 249 yards and a touchdown in the victory.

McCoy has plenty of experience and can get the job done, but there’s no arguing that Murray is a much more explosive player. The hope is that Murray can rest up and get himself back on the field come Week 11. For now, it’s McCoy’s show for the Cardinals offense.
