Mike White was so bad for the New York Jets, he gave way to Joe Flacco very late

The Mike White hype train has crashed and burned into something unsalvageable. After being a big reason the New York Jets upset the Cincinnati Bengals a few weeks ago, White played like a bad backup quarterback vs. the rival Buffalo Bills. Nobody wanted to see Joe Flacco play more than Jets fans, not even his growing family. His eliteness was on full display late in the fourth quarter.

White completed 24-of-44 passes for 251 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions. Though the Buffalo defense is fantastic at times, White channeled his inner Ryan Fitzpatrick with one YOLO throw after another. While this is the exact same recipe for disaster as taking Zach Wilson No. 2 overall out of BYU, all it yields is more perpetual disappointment and pain for Jets fans.

Overall, White played poorly enough that Flacco should get every last start for Gang Green until Wilson is healthy enough to play once again. Any opportunity White had to earn a big paycheck in free agency as a backup was tossed overboard, just like Shane Falco’s performance in the 1996 Sugar Bowl for Ohio State. Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory lasts forever, but not for Mike White.

Today was the perfect example of why Ned Schneebly was a temp and nothing more. Let’s rock!

Next. Richard Sherman to miss extended time with calf strain. dark
