The NFL officials got even with the Steelers after feeding them a win on Monday Night Football, screwing them over the next week.

The Pittsburgh Steelers received the benefit of several controversial calls on Monday Night Football in Week 9 against the Chicago Bears. The very next week, they were screwed over on a potential game-changing play in overtime against the winless Lions.

We can argue all day about whether or not the Steelers should even be in this position. Facing the 0-8 Lions with their backup quarterback in Mason Rudolph, Pittsburgh looked lackluster for the second straight week, and this time it cost them.

Was Steelers vs Lions game against Lions fixed?

We wouldn’t go that far. Officials would receive little to no benefit (that we know of) for the Steelers vs Lions game ending in a tie, or a Detroit victory.

The Steelers are a perennial playoff team, while the Lions were expected to finish with one of the worst records in the NFL yet again this year.
