WWE Survivor Series 2021 is now less than a week away and, after the go-home episode of Raw, let’s take a look at the updated match card.

Monday’s episode of Raw, though it may not have seemed like it, was actually the final three hours of the show’s programming before WWE Survivor Series 2021 on Sunday. It’s been a weird build-up to the PPV event but it is most definitely upon us.

Adding to the strangeness of WWE Survivor Series and the lead-in for the show is the fact that the company is leaning full-on into the Raw vs. SmackDown theme with virtually every match. There are four champion vs. champion matches from each brand in addition to Raw vs. SmackDown tradition Survivor Series matches.

Speaking of that, we saw some shuffling there on Monday with Rey Mysterio being replaced on Team Raw by Austin Theory.

What else has happened to the Survivor Series match card after the go-home episode of Raw? Let’s take a look.

WWE Survivor Series 2021 match card after go-home Raw

  • 5-on-5 Men’s Survivor Series Elimination Match: Team Raw (Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Bobby Lashley, Austin Theory) vs. Team SmackDown (Drew McIntyre, Jeff Hardy, King Woods, Happy Corbin, TBD)
  • 5-on-5 Women’s Survivor Series Elimination Match: Team Raw (Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, Carmella, Queen Zelina) vs. Team SmackDown (Sasha Banks, Shayna Baszler, Shotzi, Natalya, TBD)
  • WWE Champion Big E vs. Universal Champion Roman Reigns
  • Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair
  • Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro (Randy Orton, Riddle) vs. SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos
  • United States Champion Damian Priest vs. Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura

Clearly, the company is leaning heavily into the brand vs. brand matches for WWE Survivor Series, which has likely led to the strange build to this PPV show.

That doesn’t mean we won’t see some terrific wrestling in Brooklyn on Sunday but it will be worth monitoring how WWE plans to build from these matches moving forward.
