3. Pac-12

It was unexpected, but the Pac-12 made it to the second page for the first time in a long time. Oregon is carrying this division on its back and avoiding any missteps despite starting off a few games sweating a little bit. The Ducks were tied at halftime against Washington State, but a 10-point third quarter gave them the cushion they needed. Utah also saw Arizona take a step ahead, but the Utes ended up with an easy win. Arizona State rode a 21-point fourth quarter to survive Seattle and take out of the Huskies once and for all. USC was off this week because Cal had a COVID outbreak on the team. UCLA outscored Colorado 34-0 in the second half to go from losing to winning easy real quick.

2. Big Ten

Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State all have one loss, but they are all still in the College Football Playoff discussion. The Wolverines had a hard-fought victory on the road against Penn State. They are on the outside looking in, but if they beat Ohio State, the Michigan State loss will be long forgotten. Speaking of Michigan State, they bounced back from their terrible loss to Purdue by beating Maryland in an offensive clinic. The Boilermakers weren’t able to make it two upsets in a row as the Buckeyes just destroyed them in Columbus. It’s going to be a fun run towards the Big Ten Championship Game, and the winner of that might get the right to play for a national title.

1. SEC

It was a wild week outside the top of the SEC. Auburn lost at home against Mississippi State. Their season fell off the rails fast. Texas A&M couldn’t beat Ole Miss. Lane Kiffin has this team competing in the best conference in the country. What a world we live in. Arkansas survived LSU, who is still playing hard for a lame-duck head coach. The Florida-Sanford matchup took a lot of eyes off other games. Florida was down for most of the afternoon, but they had to score 70 points to survive. Alabama and Georgia won with ease, and they are on a collision course for the SEC Championship Game.
