9. Reggie White

No one could speak highly enough of Reggie White and his abilities on a football field. White began the decade with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he had established himself as one of the best defensive lineman of all time. He made back to back All-Pro teams in 1990 and 1991, and made three consecutive Pro Bowls from 1990-92. As soft spoken as he was off the field, he was an absolute menace on it.

In 1993, White became the first big-name free agency signing in league history when he signed with the Green Bay Packers, where he continued his dominance. He made six consecutive Pro Bowls from 1993-98, and won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1998. White helped Green Bay win the Super Bowl that year. It was the first and only championship of his career, and the reason he left the Eagles and signed with the Packers.

White is undoubtedly one of the greatest defensive players of all time. The two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year is second all time in sacks and  is a member of the 1990s All-Decade team. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006, two years after his sudden passing in 2004.
