With the Oregon Ducks falling flat on their faces against the Utah Utes, the Cincinnati Bearcats have a perfect opportunity at the College Football Playoff.

The Cincinnati Bearcats should be ecstatic with the way the Oregon Ducks are struggling against the Utah Utes. After all, Oregon’s failures will potentially open the door for Cincinnati to actually make its way into the College Football Playoff.

Utah beating up on Oregon will create a whole new world of opportunity for the Bearcats, who have done everything within their power to prove they belong in the College Football Playoff picture.

After a few weeks of receiving disrespect from the committee in the form of the CFP rankings, the Bearcats might just make a significant leap into the top four, which is the sort of position Cincinnati needs heading into Selection Sunday.

Cincinnati Bearcats are the biggest beneficiaries from Oregon Ducks falling short against Utah Utes

The Ducks currently trail Utah 38-7 in the fourth quarter.

At one point, Utah led 28-0. This game was essentially over at halftime as both Oregon’s offense and its defense looked completely outmatched Saturday evening.

Now, as the Pac-12 cannibalizes itself, then Cincinnati will have a great opportunity to get the spot it has worked so hard to earn.

Even though they’re unbeaten, have handled the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend, and managed to look impressive through several victories this season, the Bearcats have needed some help getting moved into the playoff picture.

They should now receive it.
