As the No. 1 prospect in the class of 2021, Quinn Ewers has drawn plenty of hype from Ohio State football fans. How did they react when he made his debut?
Ohio State brought in one of the most hyped quarterbacks this century when they landed Quinn Ewers ahead of schedule as the No. 1 2021 recruit.
The former five-star prospect finally made his debut against Michigan State, though it wasn’t exactly a great demonstration of what all the hype was about.

It was Quinn Ewers getting the first snap of his @OhioStateFB career. 👀 pic.twitter.com/5hmDii5IBw
Ewers got in the game because the Buckeyes absolutely walloped the Spartans. With a lead that big, Ryan Day was comfortable tossing the young quarterback into the action…for some handoffs.

If we’re basing NFL Potential off handoff form, I’m drafting Quinn Ewers at 1 #StartHim

Just elite handoffs from Quinn Ewers. Reminder, that’s a guy who should be a HS senior doing this. Wow.

Quinn Ewers had the most impressive first two handoffs of a career in any early enrollee freshman history.

Bigger things should be in Ewers future but everyone has to get their start somewhere.
Of course, Ewers’ future at Ohio State could be hard to gauge given the success of C.J. Stroud. The starting quarterback is a redshirt freshman, so it may be a while before Ewers will get an opportunity to play in an actual competitive situation.
For now, he got his debut out of the way and did what he was supposed to do. There isn’t much more to ask for at this stage.
The reaction of the crowd pretty much says it all. The excitement is there. Patience should be as well.
