The Friendly Confines welcomes Northwestern football as Wrigley Field is the site of the Wildcats’ game vs. the Purdue Boilermakers. The transformation is remarkable.

Wrigley Field is home to the Chicago Cubs, but today, it’s also the home of Chicago’s Big Ten team, the Northwestern Wildcats.

Northwestern is hosting the Purdue Boilermakers for a football game in the baseball stadium that used to also be the home of the Chicago Bears before Soldier Field.

Wrigley Field has hosted a Northwestern game in the past when the Wildcats played Illinois, but due to the Wrigley Field dimensions, they could only play with one end zone.

It made for a unique playing field, but those issues have been worked out this time around.

The Wildcat Classic presented quite a different look than Cubs and baseball fans are used to when they see the Friendly Confines in person or on their TV.

Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald sharing the view when you emerge to see the grass is breathtaking.

Just as breathtaking are the aerial shots.

The shots inside the stadium present some different sightlines that a baseball game provides.

Fans wishing to see Northwestern and Purdue football from Wrigley can watch the game on the Big Ten Network.
