Houston Astros fans are fully expecting to lose shortstop Carlos Correa this offseason. But him signing with one of these three teams would be heartbreaking for the fanbase.

The Houston Astros are in for what will be a very interesting offseason when it comes to shortstop Carlos Correa. With the team unable to reach an agreement with Correa prior to the 2021 season, Correa had a strong campaign, meaning that he will likely cash in on a huge contract in free agency.

Sure, the Astros did manage to bring back pitcher Justin Verlander on what could turn into a two-year deal, but losing Correa would be hard for the Astros fanbase to fathom. But the loss could sting even more if he were to sign with one of these three teams.

New York Yankees

Imagine being an Astros fans, and watching Correa sign a multi-year deal with the New York Yankees? It would not be a good feeling, right?

The Astros and Yankees have been in a heated rivalry dating back to the 2017 ALCS, which saw Houston make it to the World Series in seven games. Then, the sign-stealing scandal came to light throughout the 2017 season. Then, the tension grew.

Besides the rivalry, there are baseball fans who are not happy when the Yankees sign a superstar to a massive contract. Will New York do so? That remains to be seen. But seeing Correa wear Yankees pinstripes would no doubt make Astros fans nauseous.
