3. Moses Malone — 1994-95 season

Moses Malone played 1,455 games over his NBA and ABA career. Only 17 of those games came with the San Antonio Spurs. Malone was trying to keep his career afloat with his final year in Texas, but it just never worked out. He was jumping from team to team at the end of his career, playing for the Washington Bullets, Hawks, Bucks, and 76ers before joining the Spurs.

Malone spent his final season backing up David Robinson. Again, he only played 17 games in the league. He was the final player still standing from the former ABA, but his time with the league was dwindling by the time he signed with the Spurs. He averaged three points per game as he wasn’t needed much with Robinson playing so many minutes.

Malone was a three-time MVP that was looking for one last payday before riding off into the sunset. We saw it a lot in this era. Malone was able to play a role, and he was also able to end his career in a very cool way. The last shot he ever took in the NBA was a 74-foot buzzer-beater against the Charlotte Hornets. It was the last time we’d see him on the court, and it was also the first three-pointer of his career. It was the perfect circle.
