5 bold predictions for Raiders against Cowboys
By John Buhler
4. Hunter Renfrow will lead the Raiders in catches with over seven
There is a theme here for the Raiders to potentially pull off this upset bid of the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day in Arlington. If the Silver and Black want any hopes of beating Dallas on their big day, they have to carve up the defense with a relentless passing game. In Derek Carr’s attempt to be a Big 12 Air Raid quarterback, look for him to find wide receiver Hunter Renfrow all afternoon.
Renfrow may not have as many receiving yards as tight end Darren Waller will have, but he will lead the team in receptions with well over seven. These two receiving targets will combine to give Carr almost 200 yards passing on just their grabs alone. Though Waller’s yards per catch average will be higher than Renfrow’s, the slot receiver will be killing it in PPR fantasy football leagues.
Sure, some of these grabs will only be for a handful of yards, but they will do the trick in helping keep Raiders offensive drives alive. The running game needs to be a factor as well, but it will be the passing game carrying the Las Vegas offense once again. Renfrow will be on the receiving end of not one, not two, but three third-down conversions. His big day helps give the Raiders a chance.
Look for Renfrow to have around nine catches for 85 yards and maybe one touchdown vs. Dallas.
