With Ohio State losing their second game of the season, do they still have any chance of making the College Football Playoff?

The Ohio State Buckeyes had the chance to essentially clinch a College Football Playoff spot with a win over the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday. They had history on their side, as they won the previous eight matchups. But, the Wolverines were determined to get Jim Harbaugh his first victory against the Buckeyes as head coach, and they did just that with a 42-27 win.

With the Buckeyes now having two losses on the year, with their previous defeat coming earlier this year against the Oregon Ducks, do the Buckeyes have any chance of making the College Football Playoff?

Ohio State’s College Football Playoff dreams dashed by rival Michigan

The Buckeyes currently have a next to zero chance of making the Playoff. They would need a ton of help to even have a shot at making it.

First, Ohio State would need the one-loss Notre Dame Fighting Irish to fall to the Stanford Cardinal on Saturday. Then, the Buckeyes will have to bank on the Cincinnati Bearcats to earn their first loss of the season in the AAC championship game against the Houston Cougars. Most importantly, however, they need the Alabama Crimson Tide to either lose to the Auburn Tigers in the Iron Bowl or to get blown out by the undefeated Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC championship game.

All Ohio State can do now is wait for the conclusion of the conference title games to see their fate. But, it does not look good so far.
