The LSU Tigers ended their 2021 regular-season with a comeback 27-24 win over the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday.

Earlier this year, it was announced that head coach Ed Orgeron would not be brought back as LSU Tigers head coach. With the clock running out, Orgeron played in what was his final home game as sidelines boss for LSU, and he went out on a high note.

Trailing the Aggies 24-20, the Tigers came back on the final drive to win 27-24. That is all thanks to an impressive 28-yard pass from quarterback Max Johnson to wide receiver Jaray Jenkins for the touchdown with 20-seconds remaining in regulation.

Former LSU players shared their excitement on Twitter following the huge win, such as Tyrann Mathieu, Trai Turner and Ryan Clark.

In addition to Tigers players tweeting out their excitement over their huge victory over the Aggies, members of college football media reacted to the final result and to Orgeron earning a win in his last game at Death Valley.

LSU initially had a lead as large as 20-10 near the end of the third quarter, but it disappeared after two touchdown passes from Texas A&M quarterback Zach Calzada to wide receiver Jalen Preston. But as we saw, the Tigers used the final drive to get one last home victory for Orgeron before he departs the university.

Speaking of Orgeron, he announced following the game that this was his final game as LSU coach. If the Tigers are to be selected to a bowl game, Orgeron announced that offensive line coach Brad Davis will fill in as interim head coach, via Shea Dixon of 247Sports.

Johnson finished the night completing 22-of-38 passes for 306 yards and three touchdowns. Jenkins caught eight passes for a staggering 169 yards and two touchdowns.

In the end of his coaching tenure, Orgeron leaves LSU with a “W.”
