The greatest player in Oklahoma State football history Barry Sanders had an awesome message to Cowboys fans after the Pokes beat the arch rival Oklahoma Sooners in Bedlam.

Oklahoma State football legend Barry Sanders shared his thoughts on the Cowboys beating Oklahoma in Bedlam on Saturday night.

Despite being one of the most celebrated rivalries in college football, the Bedlam Series is grossly lopsided in Oklahoma’s favor. While the Pokes rarely win in Bedlam, Mike Gundy’s team got the job done in dramatic fashion, beating the Sooners in Stillwater, 37-33. This win knocks Oklahoma out of the College Football Playoff picture, as well as gets the Cowboys one game closer to making it.

Sanders is so proud of his alma mater. His former college quarterback is now on the precipice of guiding the Cowboys into the College Football Playoff. All the 11-1 Pokes have to do is beat presumably a top-10 Baylor Bears team in the conference championship next Saturday to get in. The Cowboys are also hoping Georgia beats Alabama in the SEC Championship game in Atlanta.

This is without question the best Oklahoma State team since the 2011 squad that came up one win short of getting to the BCS National Championship game to face LSU. The 2011 Pokes are one of the most significant teams in getting the College Football Playoff off the ground. They would have made it as the No. 3 seed had the 2011 college season been played out in the current format.

While this might only be Gundy’s third victory in Bedlam as his alma mater’s head coach, this is without question the most meaningful of his three rivalry series wins.
