The Texas Rangers aren’t slowing down their free agency spending spree, adding Rockies pitcher Jon Gray to their haul on Sunday.

Make that three new free-agent additions for Texas on a wild Sunday.

After picking up Marcus Semien and Kole Calhoun, Texas addressed their pitching staff with Jon Gray.

The former Rockies pitcher is set to sign a deal with the Rangers, according to FanSided’s Robert Murray.

Rangers sign pitcher Jon Gray to 4-year deal worth $56 million

Jeff Passan added figures for the deal which is worth $56 million over four years.

Gray has played for the Rockies since his debut in 2015. He had double-digit win totals from 2016 to 2019 and recovered from a rough go with injury in 2020 to post a 4.59 ERA in 29 starts in 2021. He went 8-12 on the season.

The big concern for Gray is his performance outside of Colorado. He was 31-18 at home for the Rockies. He was 22-31 away from home. However, his ERA remained steady across those outings at 4.54 at home and 4.65 on the road.

Texas isn’t messing around as one of the biggest spenders of the offseason so far. They have spent more than $236 million on the three players added on Sunday. They’re making sure to get their deals done before the Dec. 1 lockdown.
