5 transfer destinations for Auburn legacy QB Bo Nix
By John Buhler
South Carolina is one SEC school that could elevate Bo Nix’s NFL Draft stock
There are few places in the SEC where Nix could do better than Auburn. One program that could make sense for him is the South Carolina Gamecocks, assuming head coach Shane Beamer does not leave for another gig this offseason like the one at Oklahoma. It may be more of a lateral move to go to South Carolina, but Nix will be a year older and will be playing an easier SEC East schedule.
In terms of national exposure, what if Bo Nix replaces Desmond Ridder at UC?
If Nix does want to leave Auburn, and does prioritize getting to the NFL, it may not be that crazy to see him replace Desmond Ridder at Cincinnati. The Bearcats have lost one game over the last two seasons. They are on the cusp of reaching the College Football Playoff. With Ridder potentially a first-round pick and Luke Fickell having already recruited Nix, Cincinnati could check all the boxes.
With Matt Corral turning pro, will Bo Nix hop aboard the Lane Train in Oxford?
Depending on what Lane Kiffin wants to do, he could end up with an elite quarterback from the transfer portal after silly season subsides. His starter Matt Corral has already said he is turning pro. Though Nix would be switching SEC West allegiances, Kiffin is the head coach who will have him the most ready for the NFL. If the Rebels win 10 games again, Nix’s NFL draft stock will soar.
Though Nix is almost certainly staying at Auburn, he does have a few interesting landing spots if he enters the transfer portal over in The American, as well as a few spots in the SEC.
