5 transfer destinations for former Oklahoma QB Spencer Rattler
By John Buhler
Spencer Rattler could win the Pac-12 South playing for Chip Kelly at UCLA
While Chip Kelly is not the best recruiter, he is not afraid to dip into the transfer portal. Landing Zach Charbonnet away from Michigan was excellent. Perhaps he can add the former frontrunner to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft in the transfer portal in Rattler? Not to say he will be as good as what Marcus Mariota was at Oregon, but Kelly landing Rattler could be special.
Josh Heupel will may the second best team in the SEC East if he gets Rattler
As with Beamer, Josh Heupel is a candidate to replace Riley in Norman. However, the former Sooners quarterback may not be on the best terms with his alma mater. Heupel has already massively overachieved in his first year on the job in Knoxville. If he does land Rattler in the transfer portal, the Tennessee Volunteers will only be looking up at Georgia in the SEC East.
Coming home will do wonders for Spencer Rattler and the Arizona State program
The likeliest landing spot for Rattler has to be his hometown’s Power Five team. While it remains to be seen if Rattler will flourish playing for defensive-minded head coach Herm Edwards, the Arizona State Sun Devils could be Pac-12 South favorites if he goes there. Heck, Rattler could be the catalyst for Arizona State to win the Pac-12 for the first time since conference realignment.
Rattler’s trip into the transfer portal will be fascinating, but he is likely heading to either an SEC East school or a Pac-12 South team.
