The recruiting implications of Lincoln Riley taking over USC football continue with five-star CB Domani Jackson back in play for the Trojans.

The only thing crazier than the coaching carousel in college football is the recruiting circuit. You just never know what twists and turns can come.

After hiring Lincoln Riley, USC football is hoping for a twist in their favor in the recruitment of five-star cornerback Domani Jackson.

Jackson was committed to Clay Helton’s staff but backed off his pledge after Helton’s firing this fall. The assumption was he’d land with Alabama or Michigan.

Now he’s released a Top 2 ahead of his commitment on Dec. 15, prepping the college football world for a different battle.

Can the Trojans convince Jackson to stay home?

The Mater Dei cornerback was recruited to USC by Donte Williams, but his fate with the Trojans is unknown. He’ll finish his stint as interim head coach on Saturday.

In the meantime, Jackson told 247Sports he was in contact with Oklahoma cornerbacks coach Roy Manning, who could follow Riley to USC.

There are now questions about whether that has already happened in part.

Manning was recruiting for Oklahoma on Monday night. The fact that Jackson name-dropped him on Tuesday is definitely a wrinkle that will have to get ironed out.

Jackson is the No. 6 player in the 247Sports Composite for 2022. He ranks No. 1 in California and No. 2 among cornerbacks in the class. Greg Biggins of 247Sports projects Jackson as a future first-round pick.
