The Ohio State Buckeyes received some major news on Wednesday night with 4-star signal-caller Devin Brown announcing his verbal.

While most high school quarterbacks make their decisions early on, 4-star standout Devin Brown decided to wait things out a bit. A top quarterback waiting till Dec. 1? That’s exactly what we had for the Draper, Utah product.

Well, it was worth the wait for head coach Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes. On Wednesday, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Brown announced live with 247Sports that he’s headed to Columbus next season.

Devin Brown committing to Ohio State was huge for Ryan Day

Make no mistake about it, this is a big-time get for the Buckeyes. Per the 247Sports Composite, Brown is the No. 52 recruit in the country for the 2022 class, and he also checks in as the No. 5 quarterback in the land.

Brown received plenty of recruiting attention, as he held additional tenders from Ole Miss, Texas, USC, Arizona, Wisconsin and many others. Brown took his official visit to Columbus on Nov. 20, while he also took officials to Texas and Ole Miss.

His time on the OSU campus clearly won him over, as he decided enough was enough and he’ll be inking with the Buckeyes during the Early Signing Period later this month. With Brown now on board, Ohio State is up to 17 pledges for the ’22 class.

The class currently is No. 1 in the Big Ten and No. 4 in the country behind Georgia, Alabama and Texas A&M. With there still plenty of time to try and attract more big-time talent, you can expect more highly-touted guys to pick the Buckeyes as well.

Despite the loss to Michigan over the weekend, this Brown news sure is exciting for Ohio State fans all over the place. This kid has what it takes to be quite the player down the road.
