Alabama and Georgia football fans both had the same complaints about CBS broadcasting pair Brad Nessler and Gary Danielson during the SEC title game.
The SEC Championship Game was always going to create divisions between the Alabama and Georgia fanbases.
Who knew it could also bring them together?
CBS broadcasters Brad Nessler and Gary Danielson had fans of the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs joining forces to complain, often for the same reasons on opposite sides of the coin.

Danielson bore the brunt of the complaints.
Welp, is everybody ready for another afternoon of dealing with Gary Danielson drooling all over Alabama?#secchampionship

Gary Danielson thinks Tank Bigsby lost Oklahoma State the game.

When will Danielson’s reign of mic terror come to an end? Stetson had a man open he just didn’t throw the ball. #UGAvsBAMA

Gary Danielson gets aroused whenever Alabama gets a penalty yet somehow manages to remain silent while UGA is not called for obvious penalties.

You know I have no dog in the hunt in this @SEC championship game but I’m for @GeorgiaFootball because Gary Danielson is for @AlabamaFTBL
— Bryan Collier (@bryandcollier) December 4, 2021
Does Gary Danielson know there is another team on the field today other than Alabama?

#UGAvsBAMA how long before Danielson starts pitching Tide for playoff even if they lose?

I sold 12 squares of 5-min sections of the SEC Championship for $50 each. When Gary Danielson says both teams absolutely or definitively belong in the playoffs in the winning square, it pays out $600.

Meanwhile, Nessler got equal parts praise and derision.

Brad Nessler and Gary Danielson are top 3 duo’s in the commentary game

Man nothin better then sitting on my Saturday listening to Brad Nessler and Gary Danielson call the game of the year. #LivingMyBestLife
— Will Compton (@WillComp8) December 4, 2021
I remember when Brad Nessler used to be one of the best play-by-play men in the business. It's kind of sad to see how much he has declined.

Just about every week fans complain about broadcasters like Nessler and Danielson. It’s part of the job. They might even wear it as a badge of honor that Alabama and Georgia fans both accuse them of being fans of the other team.
In the end, Saturday’s matchup is all about the teams, not the broadcasters. Georgia is almost guaranteed a spot in the College Football Playoff, win or lose. It’s Alabama that really needs to win to get in.
Still, the Bulldogs have no shortage of incentive to get one over on their rivals. Georgia hasn’t beaten Alabama since 2007. They’ve lost to them twice in the SEC Championship Game and once in the playoff during that span of six meetings.
