The final 2021 College Football Playoff Rankings will be released on Dec. 5 with Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame and others awaiting their fate.

The most important College Football Playoff rankings of 2021 are almost here.

While the initial slate of rankings come on Tuesday evenings, that’s not the case for the final rankings.

Those will follow after all the conference championships are settled on Saturday.

The final CFP rankings are released on Sunday, Dec. 5 at noon

The final CFP rankings will be unveiled on 12:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, Dec. 5 on ESPN.

Championship weekend will help determine those all-important rankings. Georgia claimed the No. 1 spot followed by Michigan, Alabama and Cincinnati. Oklahoma State and Notre Dame were on the outside looking in.

As an undefeated team about to play in the SEC Championship Game, there is a sense that Georgia will make the playoff even if they lose to Alabama. The rest need to win to get in.

Michigan will take on Iowa in the Big Ten Championship Game while Cincinnati has to get by Houston in the AAC Championship Game to complete their undefeated season.

Oklahoma State will battle Baylor for the Big 12 crown whole hoping an impressive enough victory could boost them into the Top 4 even if the teams in front of them win.

Notre Dame is inactive, so their playoff hopes depend on what everyone else does. They’re also at the mercy of the committee evaluating them without Brian Kelly, who left for LSU.
