Kenyan Drake’s 2021 NFL season with the Las Vegas Raiders is over after breaking his leg on a controversial tackling technique used by a member of the Washington Football Team’s defense.

Though the Las Vegas Raiders are still somewhat alive for the playoffs over in the AFC, it is season over for running back Kenyan Drake.

Drake had been the Silver and Black’s second-leading rusher on the season. While he was more of a change-of-pace back to fellow Alabama alum Josh Jacobs, Drake did have immense value on this team. Now, he will have to watch the rest of Las Vegas’ games from the sidelines after getting his ankle broken on a questionable tackling technique used by a Washington Football Team defender.

Odds are, Drake’s ankle would still be fully intact if he didn’t get gator rolled on this rough tackle.

Las Vegas Raiders RB Kenyan Drake is furious at the NFL after breaking ankle

Drake voiced his frustrations to the NFL on Twitter on Sunday night. He said that the league is more concerned with doling out silly taunting penalties than protecting its players from getting rolled up on. This is the second year in a row where Drake’s season ended on a play like this. While it is very difficult to play defense at the highest level, this type of tackling needs to be eradicated.

Las Vegas fell back to .500 at 6-6 after losing a tough one at home to Washington, 17-15. While Washington is playing very well of late with quarterback Taylor Heinicke finding his groove, things might have been different if Drake did not have to exit the game with a fractured ankle on his second touch of the game. Football is a game of injuries, but stuff like this needs to be eliminated.

The Raiders will be up against it in Week 14, as they will take on the arch rival Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead next Sunday afternoon.
