Could Ben Simmons finally be on the move? The 76ers might put Philly fans out of their city-wide nightmare and trade the embattled point guard.

Simmons is of no use to the 76ers on the court, in part because he doesn’t play. The 76ers guard is unhappy with the franchise and last season’s playoff exit, among other things. At this point, it’s tough to believe Philly would take him back, despite Doc Rivers’ insistence that he supports the LSU product.

With little to no traction so far this season, Simmons has been stuck watching from home. Few if any teams are willing to trade a star player for Simmons — a talented yet flawed guard who cannot shoot. And before you ask, no, Damian Lillard is not on the table, per Woj.

Ben Simmons trade talks: Could 76ers finally make a deal?

Give Daryl Morey some credit, he’s been willing to hold out until he gets a semi-satisfying deal to help the 76ers win now. Despite Simmons not playing, Philadelphia still has a decent roster built around Joel Embiid. If anything, they’re missing consistent guard play, and some perimeter shooting to go with it.

So, could Morey find a deal that perhaps includes young, intriguing pieces plus draft picks to make up for the lack of star talent available on the trade market?
