The injury woes for the New York Jets aren’t getting any better with rookie wide receiver Elijah Moore heading for injured reserve.

Zach Wilson’s life as the rookie quarterback of the New York Jets was hard enough going into this season.

Losing both of his leading receivers isn’t going to make his life any easier in the final stretch of the season.

Corey Davis landed on injured reserve after nine games of action. Now he has company with Elijah Moore also ending up on IR.

Elijah Moore injury update: Jets WR heading to injured reserve

Moore was unable to practice this week because of a quad injury. By putting him on injured reserve, the Jets ensured he will miss at least three weeks of action. There is a chance he could return for the final two games of the season.

The timing of this injury is especially disappointing because Moore had been a revelation over the last few weeks.

The rookie receiver has caught five touchdowns in his last five games. Most recently had six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown against the Eagles.

Coming up the Jets will take on the Dolphins. Miami’s defensive backs will be relieved not to face off with Moore again. He caught eight passes for 141 yards against them in Week 11.

Without Moore, the Jets will have to rely on Jamison Crowder, Keelan Cole and Denzel Mims as Wilson’s primary targets. Crowder has started two games with 42 catches for 372 yards and two touchdowns this season. Cole has 19 catches for 299 yards. Mims has appeared in seven games with just eight catches for 133 yards.
